Are you already using Google AdWords in your business organisation? If not, you’re missing out on a valuable opportunity to increase the traffic to your website and claim a share of thousands of people out there looking for a product/service just like yours.
AdWords is a way of advertising directly to the people that are already looking for the product or service that you sell. When a potential customer searches Google for your product/service using the keywords or phrases you’ve carefully selected, your Ad appears in the ‘Paid Search’ column on the right hand side of Google’s search results page. The closer to the top of the page you are, the more traffic will be driven towards your website. It’s very simple and it’s highly effective.
Offline advertising is expensive but Google AdWords is comparatively inexpensive. You only pay for the number of times that your Google Ad is clicked upon by potential customers and clients. It’s called PPC or Pay Per Click Advertising and it’s a cost effective way of advertising to people that are already interested in what you’re selling. You can adjust your AdWords spend budget each month according to the ebb and flow of business.
The targeting of customers or clients is unparalleled elsewhere. With Google AdWords, your business can target customers searching for specific products in specific parts of the country. Your Google Ads will only show up for people looking for ‘IT Equipment Wirral’ or ‘Car Hire Aberdeen’. Compare this with the blanket advertising that offline companies use and you’ll see that Google AdWords makes great business sense, only target those people that already want to spend their money! Sell only to the people that are already looking to buy from you.
One of the most powerful aspects of Google AdWords is that you can get detailed analysis of visitor behaviour. You can work out which of your Google Ads creates the best visitor/income traffic and adjust your ads accordingly. By designing landing pages that are specific to the ads you’ve created, you can also ensure that visitors stick around long enough to get interested in what you have to sell.
If you’ve only recently got your business website online and you’re not yet appearing very high in the Google search results, then AdWords is the perfect way to get immediate results. You can appear at the top of Google for your keyphrases instantly just by creating a Google AdWords campaign.
Google AdWords isn’t complex, but it does help if you know what you’re doing. Learning to write a good advert and choosing the right keywords is something of an art and it’s worth turning to a professional to get the best advice.
In the next 3 years, the total UK online advertising spend will surpass that of television, radio and newspaper advertising combined. This clearly demonstrates a major paradigm shift to Internet advertising that is unlikely to be reversed. If all of your competitors are using Google AdWords, then they’re taking the Lion’s share of potential income out there. But if your competitors aren’t using Google AdWords yet, then beat them to the punch and clear up before they get into the game.
