Just a quickie – we’ve recently been using a fab free service called Social Mention that not only offers real time search for the places your name or brand is appearing, but also analyses those mentions for tone and meaning. Find out if the talk about you online is negative, positive or neutral!

They also offer daily Social Media Alerts, which are like Google alerts but for a variety of social media applications – again it’s free and well worth checking out if you want to see where you’re being talked about.

How to get content removed from Google

We're getting a few calls about this at the moment, so I thought I'd write a blog post about it. Bear with me because it is quite long.

There could be many reasons for you to want content removed from Google – it could be that Google has 'cached' a page on your site with the wrong info or prices, or that an old version of your website is still hanging around. It could be that something is written on another site about you that's untrue or defamatory, or it could be one of many other reasons.

At first it’s great – customers and clients give you fantastic reviews, you add yourselves to more and more sites and directories, set up google Alerts to receive emails whenever you’re mentioned online, and all is good with the world.

But then comes the day that you receive a bad review online – or even more. Your alerts tell you that someone or some people are saying bad things, and you’re not altogether sure what to do.
