It’s the cry of blog owners everywhere – “I need more traffic to my blog!” – so what can you do to make it happen?
To post a full blog on this would take ages (but it’s in the pipeline!) so I was thrilled to receive a great little video from 60 Second Marketer in my email this morning, and thought I’d share it with you:

1) Don’t always talk about yourself
2) Stay focused
3) Have a personality
4) Include search terms in copy
5) Post regularly

And remember not to use it purely as a selling or soapbox platform – engage your audience and give them an opportunity to learn why working with you would be a good idea!
I must admit I find this frustrating. I follow all 5 steps and haven’t seen much improvement on past websites. I’ve found my current site is getting a fair number of hits but from people not search engines. I’m hoping this will all turn-around over time as its still very early days.

I agree with Matt. It’s important not to use it as a pure selling tool. The key idea is to build a relationship with future customers. Once you build trust, they’ll be more likely to buy.
